los campiones del mundo!
It was great to be here in Madrid for the World Cup final vs. Hollanda (bajos paises). The city erupted with vuvuzela horns, drums and fireworks when the one and only goal in the game was scored with something like 2 minutes left. We're only 2 blocks off the Plaza del Sol where which is the center of the celebration here in Madrid. We were down at the square to see all the craziness.

Viva Espana! What a great time to be there. Last year we were in Barcelona when they defeated Manchester United so I can only imagine what a World Cup victory could bring. Enjoy and be safe. Soak it up and keep us posted.

We saw the game on tv. First part in Spanish and then found it in English. I found it interesting that the commentators said it was a pretty boring game. I sure enjoyed it. I should watch more soccer I guess. Sure sound fun. Continue the Great Adventures of Rian and Amy!

The commentated game from Espana was very lively... by no means was it a boring game here.. the tension was palpable...and the fireworks and noise after the win was a relief valve for all that pent up excitement!
So jealous! Holy Moly. Great timing for a vacation to Espana! I loved Madrid and souther spain... even in the summer when the heat is unbearable, it's still a fantastic place to be. Keep eating Hamon and drinking Tinto de Verano!!! woohoo!
